What is the duration of the course?
Our course is fully flexible. Simply purchase Module One or the ten-module bundle, and take the time you need to complete it. The same applies to the remaining modules.
How much does the course cost?
Each module can be bought separately, which allows you to spread the cost. For example, Module One costs 49 USD. The cost of each module is shown on our Courses Page. If you prefer, you can purchase all ten modules as a bundle at a discounted price.
What qualification will I get?
If you successfully complete all ten modules you will receive the School of Modern Naturopathy Diploma. The School has a great reputation and we aim to help you excel at your work. If you are already qualified as a health practitioner you will find that our training takes your understanding of health and nutrition to a new level.
Is the course accredited?
Yes, our course is accredited by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT), a large organization which registers therapists in more than 30 countries worldwide. Not sure what accreditation means? Click here.
When and how can I enrol in your course?
You can enrol from anywhere in the world by purchasing Module One. This will open a student account for you to get started. Once all ten modules and assignments have been successfully completed, you will be eligible to receive our final Diploma. If you prefer, you can purchase all ten modules as a bundle at a discounted price.
I am an international student. What do you need from me?
We only need documents from you when you have passed all the modules. Until then, you simply purchase modules and complete the work. Your tutor will give you feedback on your assignments.
Where can I read reviews for this course?
You can view testimonials from our former students here.
Assignments submitted online can be fabricated. How can you really monitor your students without personal contact?
Although the quizzes for each module are in multiple-choice format and are not marked by a human, the assignments are. If the assignment shows a lack of due diligence, the student will be informed that their standards will need to be improved if they wish to gain our diploma.
How many hours a week of study are required?
You can work entirely at your own pace. It is estimated that you would need to spend 20 hours studying each module, absorbing the information and following up the links before moving on to the next one. You may need a little longer for some of the assignments in later modules. Part of this time should be allocated to reading the course books. The quiz and assignment in Module Ten will test you on the books as well as the lectures, so you should allow 40 hours for Module Ten.
Will I need to buy course books? How much will they cost?
You can find our reading list at this link.
How are students assessed?
Quizzes are graded quantitatively, with a pass threshold of 80%. Assignments are assessed qualitatively on merit, with emphasis placed on the level of effort, understanding and attention to detail.
Who are the tutors?
Your tutor will be Linda Lazarides, who is also the school's founder. Linda has 20 years experience as a naturopathic nutritionist, plus more than ten years experience in teaching. She is author of the acclaimed Textbook of Modern Naturopathy as well as seven more books. You can read more about Linda on our Home Page (see links below).
Are anatomy, physiology and biochemistry included in your course?
When anatomy, physiology and biochemistry knowledge is required, it is kept to a basic level so that when you explain it to clients, they will find it easy to understand. This information is interwoven into the modules and is not taught separately. Our required reading list includes books which you can use as reference.
How can you train a naturopath without providing practical sessions?
Modern technology such as the use of videos makes it very easy to complete all necessary training online. By using the comprehensive client assessment system taught in Module 10, our graduates gain the confidence to support their clients far more effectively than through limited ‘sitting in’ sessions with already qualified practitioners. We also offer many practitioner support tools and client handouts that other colleges do not.

Accreditation
How do I get registered after completing your course?
The School of Modern Naturopathy is accredited by the International Institute for Complementary Therapists, under the modality of Natural Health Consultant. IICT also provides a very affordable practitioner insurance scheme.
I am in the United States where we have naturopathic physicians, who are equivalent to medical doctors and are allowed to diagnose and treat disease. Does your course provide a similar qualification?
In the United States the 4 year Naturopathic Physician training programs are equivalent to medical training, and their graduates are allowed to diagnose diseases and prescribe medication. Our course does not provide medical training. It teaches naturopathy purely as a system that promotes self-healing.
After completing your course may I legally call myself a Naturopath? May I register as a Naturopath?
The term naturopath broadly refers to a natural health practitioner, often specializing in naturopathic nutrition as taught by our school. While traditional registration bodies—such as the GCRN in the UK—do not currently recognize qualifications earned through online or home study, this presents no real disadvantage. Graduates of our diploma program are eligible to register as a Natural Health Consultant with the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT), a large and forward-thinking organization. In practice, clients tend to place far greater value on your expertise and professional reputation than on registration affiliations and politics.
What if I am not in a country covered by the IICT?
Provided you do not make any claims to diagnose or treat diseases, you are free to set up as a Natural Health Consultant or Health Coach almost anywhere in the world. This link explains more: naturostudy.org/blog/announcements/what-does-accreditation-really-mean. Our course provides the training to gain a great reputation.
